The councilman of Social Welfare of the Municipality of Torrevieja, Maria Dolores Canales, has visited the summer school for children with special educational needs, pioneering project in the city of Torrevieja for parents of these children have a period at day that their children have adequate attention to their needs.

This Summer School, called "Sea Horse", was born in 2009 and has offered workshops leisure to a total of 10 children, 19 to 30 July from 10:00 to 13:30, Monday through Friday, in the Public School Habaneras.

The objectives that have sought to offer these children is that they can enjoy a fun environment where they interact with other children and participate in various leisure activities for individuals and groups.

To stimulate creativity and expand the range of games and activities children can do with simple materials and to develop communication, trying to create situations that promote communication using, among others, music as augmentative language, allowing children to express their feelings, emotions and moods.

Also aims to encourage participation in sport, dance practice, the importance of sports, teamwork, etc.

The contents of the workshops that take place in the Summer School "Seahorse" were: psychomotor activity, activity table, interactive games and relaxation and stimulation of language and the so-called "soaking" in which children cool in the schoolyard.

The Summer School "Sea Horse" 2010 has four monitors, two teachers and a coordinator.
